Police capture 280 irregular migrants in Izmir operations

In a series of operations conducted in four districts of Izmir, Turkish police apprehended 280 irregular migrants and detained seven individuals suspected of organizing illegal border crossings.
The Izmir Governorate released a statement providing details of the operations conducted in the districts of Karaburun, Foça, Bergama, and Dikili. According to the statement, law enforcement intercepted 280 irregular migrants who were in the process of preparing to cross borders illegally. Additionally, seven suspects believed to be orchestrating these illegal activities were taken into custody.
Following the necessary procedures, the irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. Simultaneously, the seven individuals accused of organizing the migrants were arrested by a judge.
As part of the operations, authorities seized two minibuses, one car, and one bus believed to be associated with the illicit activities. The crackdown on irregular migration and the individuals facilitating such activities underscores Türkiye's commitment to border security and the prevention of unauthorized movements across its borders.
