Presidential Cabinet to convene with focus on terror-free Türkiye

The Turkish Presidential Cabinet will convene Monday under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after a three-week break, with a wide-ranging agenda expected to address critical foreign policy, regional security, and domestic economic matters.
The Cabinet is set to evaluate the outcomes of President Erdoğan’s recent trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly and his subsequent visit to Washington for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump. Discussions are expected to focus on Turkey-U.S. relations, particularly Ankara’s procurement process for F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as the impact of a recently signed liquefied natural gas (LNG) import deal on Turkey’s energy sector.
The agenda will also include deliberations on the ongoing Israeli bombardment of Gaza, with a review of Turkey’s humanitarian aid initiatives and possible additional steps to support the Palestinian people.
In Syria, the Cabinet will closely examine the implementation of the recent agreement between the new Syrian administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), while reiterating Turkey’s stance on preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and monitoring progress in the constitutional drafting process.
Another key focus will be Turkey’s counterterrorism efforts. Updates on ongoing disarmament operations in northern Iraq will be presented, alongside reports from a parliamentary commission and proposed legislative measures to be discussed in the upcoming parliamentary session.
On the economic front, the Cabinet is expected to consider new initiatives aimed at curbing inflation and supporting low-income citizens. Measures include intensified price inspections during the final quarter of 2025 to ease the burden of rising living costs. (ILKHA)
