Thousands of young hearts in Diyarbakır declare: Life is Beautiful with Prayer

Thousands of children and their families gathered in a vibrant display of faith and unity at the historic Kurşunlu Mosque complex for the grand finale of the “Life is Beautiful with Prayer” event, organized by the Prophet's Lovers Foundation.
The event, which capped a citywide prayer training program for children aged 7–12, transformed Diyarbakır’s Sur district into a beacon of spiritual devotion and Islamic values.
The day began with a breathtaking scene at the iconic Grand Mosque, where thousands of children, adorned in “Life is Beautiful with Prayer” T-shirts and holding banners, created a visual spectacle of faith. The young participants, joined by their families, marched from the Ulu Mosque to the Kurşunlu Mosque complex, chanting slogans in solidarity with the people of Gaza and releasing balloons into the sky as a symbol of hope and unity.
The program at Kurşunlu Mosque commenced with a soul-stirring recitation of the Holy Qur’an, setting a reverent tone for the event. Educator Davut Yazgil delivered a powerful speech, emphasizing the profound importance of prayer in shaping the lives of the young generation. He expressed gratitude to the children, their families, and the dedicated teachers who have tirelessly worked to instill the love of prayer in their hearts.
In a moving tribute, Yazgil addressed the historical figures Iyaz bin Ghanem and Suleiman bin Khalid, martyred during the conquest of Diyarbakır and buried near the Hazrat Suleiman Mosque. “O Iyaz bin Ghanem! You planted the banner of Prophet Muhammad on the walls of Diyarbakır, and behold, your grandchildren are here, standing for the same cause of bringing the Age of Happiness to this land,” he declared, invoking the legacy of Islamic heritage.
Speaking directly to the children, Yazgil inspired them to become “guardians of prayer” in their homes, schools, neighborhoods, and mosques. “Wherever you are, never neglect your prayers,” he urged, encouraging them to carry the light of worship in every aspect of their lives.
Yazgil also called upon parents to foster an Islamic environment at home, describing it as a “school” where mothers and fathers play pivotal roles as shepherds and teachers. “A Muslim home must have a program rooted in worship,” he said, emphasizing the importance of the dawn prayer in bringing blessings to the household. “Mothers, turn your homes into classrooms of faith, and fathers, rise for the dawn prayer to bring its blessings to your family.”
In a heartfelt message to the young teachers who guided the children through their prayer training, Yazgil praised their dedication: “You are the ones shaping this society, thrusting this beautiful sight into the eyes of the enemies of Islam. Your service is invaluable, and through you, the Age of Happiness will return to this land.” He concluded his speech with prayers and greetings for the mujahideen in Gaza, reinforcing solidarity with their struggle.
The event continued with the congregation uniting for the afternoon prayer, followed by soulful nasheeds and hymns that filled the air with devotion. The children were treated to colorful theatrical performances through which they learned essential lessons in Islamic knowledge in an engaging and joyful manner.
The day concluded with a variety of fun-filled activities, including tug-of-war, puzzles, painting workshops, goal-shooting competitions, and photo sessions, ensuring that the children left with both spiritual enrichment and cherished memories.
The “Life is Beautiful with Prayer” event stands as a testament to the enduring strength of Islamic values in Diyarbakır, inspiring a new generation to uphold the beauty of prayer and the legacy of ttheir faith. The Prophet's Lovers Foundation’s efforts have once again demonstrated the power of community, faith, and education in building a brighter, more devout future. (ILKHA)
