Prophet Lovers Foundation urges solidarity with Gaza in Eid al-Adha message
The Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı (Prophet Lovers Foundation) released a comprehensive Eid al-Adha message emphasizing spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and the duty of Muslims toward suffering communities, particularly in Gaza and other parts of the Islamic world.
The message, which arrives as Muslims prepare to mark Eid al-Adha on Wednesday, was read by Foundation Board Member Ömer Çelik.
Çelik opened the message with praise to Allah and salutations upon Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), citing the Qur’anic verse on sacrifice:“Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is the righteousness from you. Thus He has subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for having guided you. And give good tidings to the doers of good.”
He also referenced the Prophet’s hadith stating that the greatest day in Allah’s sight is the Day of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha).
Spiritual Significance of Eid al-Adha
Describing Eid al-Adha as a blessed festival that teaches obedience and submission, Çelik said:“Eid days are special occasions that bring joy to Muslims, strengthen brotherhood, bring believers closer together, and remind them of the consciousness of being one Ummah.”
He added that Eid al-Adha serves as a mercy, containing acts of worship such as Hajj and Qurban (sacrifice) that draw believers closer to Allah and purify them from sins.
Çelik highlighted the deeper meaning of the rituals:“Eid al-Adha is a festival with profound meanings that teaches us, through the symbolic sacrifice of animals, the sacrifices we must make for the sake of Allah. It reminds us of the obedience and submission exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them).”
He further noted that Hajj in the month of Dhul-Hijjah demonstrates the insignificance of worldly status and fame in Allah’s sight, elevates humans through worship, and provides forgiveness of sins.
Call for Solidarity and Prayer
The Foundation’s message placed strong emphasis on the ongoing suffering in Muslim lands. Çelik stated:“Although the pains experienced today in the Islamic world in particular, and in deprived regions of the world in general, sadden us, our faith that our Lord will deliver these lands from oppression and suffering gives us hope and reminds us of our responsibilities.”
He urged Muslims to use the blessed days of Eid for good deeds and solidarity:“On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, we invite our brothers and sisters to turn these blessed days into a spiritual opportunity; not to forget to share the meat of the sacrificed animals with the poor and those in need; to strengthen our bonds of love by visiting our parents, relatives, neighbors, and friends; to end any existing grudges and reconcile; and especially to remember our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Palestine, and various parts of the world in our prayers after salah.”
Çelik concluded the message by extending congratulations:“On this occasion, as the Prophet Lovers Foundation, we congratulate the Eid of the entire Islamic world, especially the devoted people of Gaza and Palestine. We pray that the Hajj of our brothers and sisters performing it in the Kaaba is accepted, that the sacrifices of those who offer qurban are accepted, and that this Eid becomes a means for the unity (wahdah) of the Islamic world.”
The statement reflects a common theme in Eid messages from Islamic organizations, blending religious devotion with calls for social solidarity and awareness of international Muslim issues. (ILKHA)
