Turkish President Erdoğan pays tribute to Khojaly Masscare victims on 33rd Anniversary

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has commemorated the victims of the Khojaly Massacre on its 33rd anniversary, reaffirming Türkiye’s solidarity with Azerbaijan in honoring the memory of those killed.
In a message shared on his official X account, Erdoğan expressed his deep condolences to the Azerbaijani people, stating: "I commemorate with mercy our Azerbaijani brothers who were killed on the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre, whose pain we will never forget and whose sorrow we will always carry within us. I express my condolences to the brotherly Azerbaijani people, with whom we are one in good and bad times."
The Khojaly genocide, which occurred on February 26, 1992, during the Armenian occupation of the town, remains one of the most tragic events in Azerbaijan’s history. More than 600 Azerbaijani civilians, including women and children, were brutally killed.
Türkiye has consistently supported Azerbaijan in seeking international recognition for the tragedy and has actively taken part in commemorative events. The solidarity between the two nations remains strong, with Turkish officials regularly honoring the memory of the victims and condemning the atrocities committed during the conflict. (ILKHA)
