Türkiye reaffirms solidarity with Libya after tragic death of senior military officials
Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, has issued an official condolence message following a tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of senior Libyan military officials on Tuesday.
In a written statement, Minister Güler expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Libya’s Chief of the General Staff, General Mohamed Haddad; Commander of the Libyan Land Forces, Lieutenant General Futuri Gribel; Director of Libya’s Military Factories, Brigadier General Mahmut Juma El Giteyvi; Adviser to the Libyan Chief of the General Staff, Mohamed Assavi; and photographer Mohamed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub, all of whom were killed in the accident. Güler prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and honored their service to Libya.
The Turkish defence minister also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the Libyan government, the Libyan armed forces, and the people of Libya. Describing Libya as a “friendly and brotherly country,” Güler conveyed wishes for patience and strength during this time of mourning.
The message reaffirmed Türkiye’s solidarity with Libya in the wake of the tragedy, reflecting the close political and military ties between the two countries and Ankara’s support for the Libyan people during difficult times. (ILKHA)
