Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to attend 23rd Doha Forum in Qatar
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Qatar this week to participate in the high-level 23rd Doha Forum, a major diplomatic gathering hosted by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year's forum, organized under the overarching theme "“Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress’" will serve as a critical platform for dialogue on pressing regional and international challenges. The event is set to convene a wide array of global leaders, including heads of state and government, ministers, senior officials from international organizations, as well as leading academics, think tank representatives, and policy experts.
Minister Fidan's agenda is notably packed, featuring prominent speaking roles in two key sessions on December 6. He will first contribute to the opening session, "Mediation in an Age of Fragmentation," a topic that aligns closely with both Turkish and Qatari foreign policy approaches in recent years.
Later the same day, Fidan will take center stage as the featured guest in the "Newsmaker" interview-format session. The discussion, titled "Shaping the Security Architecture in the Middle East and Türkiye’s Efforts to Promote Stability in the Region," is expected to address Ankara's multifaceted diplomatic and security engagements, from the conflicts in Gaza and Syria to its relations with regional powers and mediation efforts.
Beyond the public forum program, the Turkish minister's visit will include a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines, providing an opportunity for direct diplomatic consultations with other attending dignitaries.
The forum also highlights institutional cooperation between major diplomatic initiatives, with Turkey's own Antalya Diplomacy Forum listed among the event's official content partners.
The participation of Foreign Minister Fidan underscores Türkiye's active diplomatic posture in the Gulf and its continued emphasis on positioning itself as a key stakeholder in discussions on the future security and stability architecture of the Middle East. (ILKHA)
