Türkiye urges restraint after US kidnaps Venezuela’s President Maduro
Türkiye is closely following the recent developments in Venezuela and places great importance on the country’s stability and the well-being of its people, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a press release issued on Saturday.
In the statement, the ministry emphasized that Türkiye is concerned about the potential consequences of the unfolding situation and called on all parties to act responsibly to prevent further escalation.
“Türkiye attaches importance to the stability of Venezuela and to the peace and well-being of the people of Venezuela,” the statement said, urging all sides to exercise restraint so that the current situation does not lead to adverse consequences for regional and international security.
The Foreign Ministry also underlined Türkiye’s readiness to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis through peaceful and lawful means. “Türkiye stands ready to provide any constructive contribution towards resolving the crisis in Venezuela within the framework of international law,” the statement noted.
Addressing the safety of its nationals, the ministry said that Türkiye’s Embassy in Caracas remains fully operational and continues to maintain uninterrupted communication and necessary coordination with Turkish citizens residing in Venezuela.
The statement reflects Ankara’s call for de-escalation and dialogue amid rising tensions in the country, while reaffirming its commitment to diplomatic engagement and the protection of its citizens abroad. (ILKHA)
