The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed serious concern over the recent escalation of tensions in the Idlib region of Syria.

In a statement released on Friday, Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli emphasized the importance of maintaining calm in the region, which borders Türkiye.

Keçeli reiterated Türkiye's commitment to the Astana agreements, which were designed to establish a de-escalation zone in Idlib. He warned that recent attacks in the region have undermined the spirit of these agreements and led to significant civilian casualties.

The spokesperson also expressed concern over increased attacks by terrorist groups in the areas of Tal Rifaat and Manbij, which border Türkiye. He noted that the failure to implement previous agreements to remove these groups poses a serious threat to regional stability.

Türkiye has consistently emphasized its commitment to Syria's territorial integrity and its determination to combat terrorism.
