Türkiye welcomes Iran-Israel ceasefire

Türkiye has welcomed reports of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, calling on both sides to fully adhere to the truce and seize the opportunity to pursue lasting regional peace.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for the ceasefire and urged both nations to respect the agreement during what it described as a critical and delicate period.
“We welcome the reports of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran. In the upcoming critical period, we call on both sides to fully comply with the ceasefire regime,” the statement read.
Emphasizing the broader implications of the ceasefire, the Ministry stressed the urgent need for peace and stability in the Middle East. “It is of utmost importance that steps toward comprehensive and lasting solutions are taken decisively,” the statement continued, adding that open channels of dialogue and diplomacy are essential.
The Turkish government also underscored that the ongoing conflict has again highlighted the centrality of the Palestinian issue. “This process has once again demonstrated the urgent need to resolve the Palestinian issue, which remains one of the region’s most pressing challenges,” the Ministry said.
Türkiye reiterated its commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring peace and justice for all peoples in the region. (ILKHA)
