Trump’s $60 million Gaza aid boast collapses — Only $3 million delivered

The U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that the U.S. provided $60 million in food aid to Gaza has been contradicted by a Washington Post report, which revealed that only $3 million has been delivered to date.
Citing State Department sources, the Post reported that just $3 million was recently transferred to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
During a White House press briefing on Thursday, Trump stated: “We gave $60 million a couple of weeks ago. Nobody said anything about it. Nobody said thank you.”
However, State Department officials clarified that while $30 million was allocated, only a small portion has been disbursed, with no clear timeline for the remaining funds.
The discrepancy has drawn sharp criticism from aid advocates, who argue that the administration’s inflated claims misrepresent the actual aid reaching Gaza. “In a crisis of this scale, vague numbers and delayed disbursements undermine trust and delay critical relief,” said a representative from an international humanitarian group, urging greater transparency on U.S. aid commitments.
The report has reignited scrutiny over the administration’s handling of humanitarian assistance, particularly in conflict zones where urgent needs persist. Questions remain about when and how the pledged funds will be fully delivered to support Gaza’s population. (ILKHA)
