10 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, including church shelter

At least 10 Palestinian civilians were killed and several others wounded on Thursday in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes that targeted densely populated areas in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, including a historic church sheltering displaced families.
According to local sources, eight Palestinians were killed when Israeli drones launched strikes on the Al-Tawam neighborhood, located in the northern sector of the besieged enclave. The attack left numerous others wounded, many of them suffering from serious injuries, as emergency teams scrambled to reach the affected site.
In a separate attack, Israeli forces shelled the Latin Monastery Church, situated east of Gaza City in the Old City district. The church, which had been sheltering displaced residents seeking refuge from ongoing bombardments, was struck by artillery fire, killing two women and wounding at least seven others. The historic church compound has served as a sanctuary for dozens of civilians since the early days of the war.
Witnesses described scenes of devastation, with bloodstained pews and shattered icons amid the rubble of the sacred site. Human rights organizations have expressed growing concern over Israel's repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure and places of refuge, including schools, hospitals, mosques, and now churches.
The attacks mark yet another grim chapter in Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, which has claimed thousands of lives, displaced nearly 2 million residents, and devastated vital infrastructure since its escalation last year.
Medical personnel continue to struggle under impossible conditions due to fuel shortages, damaged hospitals, and the constant risk of being targeted themselves. Meanwhile, civil defense teams and residents are still digging through debris in hopes of rescuing survivors or retrieving the bodies of the dead.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack on the church as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and religious sanctities, calling on the international community, particularly Christian institutions, to intervene and demand an end to the bloodshed.
As airstrikes continue across the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian crisis deepens, with civilians paying the heaviest price for a genocidal campaign that shows no signs of abating. (ILKHA)
