9 Palestinians killed, 15 injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza civilian homes
At least nine Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting residential apartments across Gaza City in the early hours of Thursday, as the ongoing assault on the besieged enclave continued to claim civilian lives.
According to medical sources, five Palestinians were martyred and several others wounded when an Israeli strike hit an apartment belonging to the Labad family in northwestern Gaza City. Among the survivors was a nine-year-old girl who sustained moderate injuries after being pulled from the rubble of her family’s home.
The attack is the latest in a pattern of strikes on densely populated civilian areas, where Palestinian families have sought shelter amid relentless bombardment. Rescue teams and residents rushed to the scene to recover victims trapped beneath the debris as emergency services struggled to cope with the growing humanitarian catastrophe.
In a separate strike, Israeli warplanes targeted an apartment owned by the Ghoul family in the Abu Ghuri building in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City. The bombing killed two Palestinians and left several others injured, adding to the mounting civilian death toll.
Medical sources also reported additional attacks on residential apartments in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of Gaza City and in the Shati refugee camp, where an apartment belonging to the Muhanna family was struck. The attacks spread panic among residents already enduring months of displacement, destruction, and severe shortages of food, medicine, and basic necessities.
The latest bombardments come as Gaza's civilian population continues to bear the brunt of Israel’s military campaign. Human rights organizations and humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned that attacks on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure are exacerbating an already devastating humanitarian crisis.
As rescue operations continue and casualty figures are expected to rise, Palestinian families across Gaza remain exposed to ongoing airstrikes, with entire neighborhoods facing widespread destruction and loss. (ILKHA)
