Afghan Deputy PM Mullah Baradar heads to Azerbaijan for ECO summit

A high-ranking delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, departed for Azerbaijan on Tuesday morning to participate in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
The visit follows an official invitation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to a statement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
The two-day summit, set to begin on Thursday, will bring together presidents and senior officials from ECO member states to discuss economic development and regional integration. Mullah Baradar is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 17th General Assembly, where he will outline Afghanistan’s priorities and vision for regional cooperation.
In addition to his participation in the summit, Mullah Baradar is expected to hold talks with Azerbaijani officials to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors, including trade, investment, and economic collaboration.
