A high-level delegation from the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), led by Deputy Operational Secretary General Mawlavi Abdul Latif Sabet, has arrived in Istanbul, Türkiye, to assess and enhance international humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable Afghan communities.

The visit, conducted at the invitation of the UK’s Department for Foreign Relations, Common Interests, and Development Affairs, focuses on reviewing ongoing support programs that include social health services, emergency aid, public awareness, and economic empowerment initiatives.

In a statement released Thursday, ARCS confirmed the purpose of the trip is to evaluate the current achievements and challenges of the program and to explore ways to strengthen its future impact. The delegation will engage in discussions with international partners to plan and coordinate sustainable strategies for the years ahead.

The ARCS’s comprehensive support program provides critical aid to thousands of needy families, including food packages, tents, blankets, and medical supplies. The organization also offers cash assistance to skilled individuals to support self-employment and income generation, helping reduce economic vulnerability.

Beyond material aid, ARCS continues to play a pivotal role in promoting social engagement, raising public awareness, and developing leadership capacities among Afghan youth. The organization emphasized its ongoing commitment to improving the lives of citizens through inclusive and sustainable humanitarian programs.
