Afghanistan destroys nearly 10 tons of narcotics seized in Nimroz
Afghan authorities destroyed nearly 10 tons of narcotics and more than 3.05 million narcotic pills seized in Nimroz province, the Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said counter-narcotics officers from the Nimroz Police Headquarters had confiscated the substances from various parts of the province over the past several months.
The seized drugs were burned in the presence of relevant government officials, the ministry said, without providing details on the types of narcotics destroyed or their estimated street value.
The operation is part of efforts by Afghan authorities to combat drug trafficking and the production and distribution of narcotics across the country. (ILKHA)
