Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri killed in US drone strike in Kabul

The United States killed al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a drone strike in the center of Kabul, the Afghanistan capital.
“On Saturday, at my direction, the United States conducted an airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan that killed the emir of al-Qa’ida: Ayman al-Zawahiri,” US president Joe Biden said.
Ayman Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri, an Egyptian-born physician and theologian, succeeded Osama bin Laden following his death in Pakistan.
