Amnesty International slams Israel for Gaza genocide

Amnesty International's Secretary General, Agnes Callamard, declared on live television Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces are committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In a detailed report, Callamard stated, "Amnesty International has documented the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza," highlighting that Israel's apartheid system and illegal occupation in the West Bank have fueled escalating violence.
The report accuses Israel of killing thousands of Palestinians, massacring entire families, and destroying homes, hospitals, and schools. Callamard criticized the inaction of global governments, noting, "States have watched, helplessly, as Israel has caused widespread devastation."
Callamard also addressed recent attacks on the International Criminal Court (ICC), which issued provisional measures in a case brought by South Africa against Israel and declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, illegal. She urged governments to "do everything in their power to support international justice, hold perpetrators accountable, and protect the ICC and its staff from sanctions."
Amnesty International's statements come amid heightened international scrutiny of the ongoing conflict and calls for accountability. (ILKHA)
