Fatal road accidents claim lives in Pakistan's Multan and Thatta

Tragic road accidents in Multan and Thatta, Pakistan, have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, authorities report.
Eleven individuals lost their lives, and 15 others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a passenger van on the Multan-Mianwali Road. Rescue 1122 officials stated that among the deceased were five men, three women, two children, and one girl. The collision occurred between the truck and a passenger van traveling in the opposite direction. The injured individuals and the bodies of the deceased were swiftly transported to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.
In a separate incident in Thatta’s Jhirk area, five people were killed, and 11 others were injured when a Suzuki pick-up van collided with a trailer. The passengers, hailing from Multan’s Laar area, were en route to meet relatives when the accident occurred. Rescue officials confirmed that all the deceased and injured were members of the same family.
Authorities have attributed the unfortunate incidents to the poor condition of the road and the presence of construction materials left unattended on the roadway for an extended period. These tragic events highlight the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures in the region. (ILKHA)
