Four Palestinians killed as Israeli airstrikes and shelling continue across Gaza
Four Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Monday as Israeli airstrikes and artillery attacks continued across different areas of the Gaza Strip, according to local sources and medical reports.
The latest attacks come amid ongoing Israeli military operations that have resulted in mounting civilian casualties and widespread destruction throughout the besieged enclave.
According to local reports, Palestinian citizen Hammuda Abu Daqqa was killed and at least 15 others were injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle on al-Rashid Street in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
In a separate attack, an Israeli drone struck an area near Roni Street, south of al-Mawasi, injuring several Palestinians. The exact number of casualties was not immediately available.
Israeli warplanes also bombed another vehicle near the Palestinian Mills area north of Khan Yunis. No casualties were reported from that strike.
In Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike targeted an apartment building near the Jordanian Hospital in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood.
The attack killed Fadi Falah and his wife, Riham Rashid, while several other civilians sustained injuries. Rescue and medical teams rushed to the scene to evacuate the wounded and assess the damage caused by the strike.
Meanwhile, another Palestinian was pronounced dead after succumbing to injuries sustained in an earlier Israeli artillery attack in the eastern area of al-Musaddar village in central Gaza.
Israeli occupation forces continued artillery bombardment and gunfire attacks in various parts of the Gaza Strip throughout the day, adding to concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation and the growing number of civilian casualties.
Residents reported ongoing explosions and military activity in several areas as Israeli forces maintained their operations across the territory.
In a separate incident, Gaza’s Civil Defense announced that its rescue teams successfully extracted four people from a partially collapsed building in Gaza City.
According to the Civil Defense service, the structure, which was already in a deteriorated condition, suffered a partial collapse, trapping several individuals inside. Rescue crews managed to recover the victims and provide emergency assistance.
The latest casualties add to the growing death toll in Gaza, where civilians continue to bear the brunt of ongoing Israeli military attacks amid a deepening humanitarian crisis and widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure, and public facilities. (ILKHA)
