Hamas applauds international community for recognizing genocide in Gaza

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has welcomed a landmark joint statement issued by 80 countries recognizing the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, now entering its eighth month under relentless Israeli bombardment and siege.
In an official statement, Hamas praised the growing international consensus, describing it as a vital step toward exposing and ending what it labeled as an ongoing genocide being carried out by the Israeli occupation since October 7, 2023. The joint declaration, which acknowledges that Gaza is enduring the worst humanitarian disaster in recent history, marks a significant escalation in international opposition to Israel’s aggression.
"This unified stance reflects the expanding global rejection of the genocidal war being waged against our people in Gaza," Hamas stated, urging the international community to translate words into action.
The movement emphasized that the joint statement serves as a powerful call to urgently deliver humanitarian aid, halt the use of starvation as a weapon of war, and immediately break the suffocating blockade imposed on Gaza.
The call comes as warnings from humanitarian organizations grow increasingly dire. Food security experts say famine is imminent, and that nearly all of Gaza's 2.3 million residents are now entirely dependent on a dwindling network of community-run kitchens. International aid agencies have reported that their food supplies ran out weeks ago due to the Israeli-imposed siege, leaving vast segments of the population to face starvation.
Hamas reiterated that the Israeli regime bears full responsibility for the humanitarian collapse, and appealed for stronger global pressure to bring an end to the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
As voices around the world grow louder in calling for an end to the bloodshed, humanitarian groups and rights organizations continue to demand urgent international intervention to stop the war crimes, lift the siege, and ensure the delivery of lifesaving aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. (ILKHA)
