Hamas condemns Israeli destruction of Gaza dialysis center, urges international investigation

The Hamas Movement has issued a strong condemnation following the destruction of the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza by Israeli forces, describing the act as part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to dismantle the Strip’s healthcare infrastructure and commit systematic crimes against its civilian population.
In a statement released Monday, Hamas labeled the targeted demolition of the dialysis center as a “new crime” within the broader context of Israel’s deliberate war on all aspects of life in Gaza, now entering its 19th month. The movement stressed that tens of thousands of patients, including children, women, and the elderly, are being denied access to vital, life-sustaining treatment for chronic illnesses, including kidney failure.
Hamas blamed the “fascist Israeli government” led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for carrying out brutal and unlawful attacks against civilians, accusing it of operating under the military and political protection of the United States, and benefiting from a “disgraceful international silence.” The group called for an urgent international investigation, urging the United Nations and UN Security Council to intervene and halt the genocide in Gaza, and to hold Israeli leaders accountable for war crimes.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza also confirmed the destruction of the dialysis center in a statement released Sunday night. The Noura Al-Kaabi Center, one of the few remaining facilities providing dialysis services in the northern part of the enclave, had been serving a large population of kidney patients.
Health officials warned that the destruction has plunged patients with kidney failure into a catastrophic health crisis, with unpredictable and potentially fatal consequences. According to the ministry, 41% of kidney failure patients have died during the war, largely due to the destruction of dialysis units and the denial of access to treatment amid relentless Israeli assaults on Gaza’s medical sector.
The Ministry further accused Israel of enacting a deliberate policy to eliminate hospitals and specialized healthcare centers, particularly in northern Gaza, as part of a broader effort to collapse the civilian infrastructure of the besieged territory.
Since March 2, Israeli occupation forces have enforced a total blockade on Gaza, barring the entry of humanitarian aid, food, medical supplies, and fuel — all of which are essential for sustaining civilian life and hospital operations. Aid organizations and health authorities have repeatedly warned that this blockade constitutes collective punishment and is driving the already devastated Strip toward total collapse.
The destruction of the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center marks yet another blow to Gaza’s crumbling healthcare system, as international pressure continues to mount for an end to the war, full humanitarian access, and accountability for alleged violations of international law. (ILKHA)
