Hamas warns of systematic settler terror campaign in West Bank
A senior leader of the Hamas Movement has strongly condemned the escalating attacks carried out by Israeli settler militias against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, describing them as part of a systematic campaign aimed at intimidation, annexation, and the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
Abdul Rahman Shadid said on Saturday that the recent dangerous escalation in the village of Shalal al-Auja, north of Jericho, is not an isolated incident but rather a clear manifestation of an organized policy designed to terrorize residents, suffocate their daily lives, and impose a new colonial reality that paves the way for land seizure and demographic change.
Shadid stressed that Palestinians across West Bank governorates are subjected to daily assaults, including home demolitions, vandalism, theft of property, and coordinated acts of intimidation. He said these attacks are carried out openly and in full coordination between Israeli occupation forces and armed settler gangs, exposing what he described as the true nature of the occupation and its blatant disregard for international law, humanitarian norms, and repeated global warnings about the catastrophic consequences of forced displacement.
He emphasized that these crimes would not break the will of the Palestinian people or weaken their steadfastness on their land. “These terrorist attacks will not undermine the resilience of our people, their determination to remain rooted in their homeland, or their unwavering commitment to their legitimate rights,” Shadid said, adding that Palestinians will never relinquish their land, regardless of the scale of repression and aggression. “Our people will not allow the occupation’s settlement and annexation schemes to pass, no matter the cost,” he said.
Shadid called on Palestinians throughout the West Bank to intensify popular mobilization, unity, and solidarity to confront settler violence, urging collective action to protect targeted villages and reinforce the steadfastness of communities facing daily assaults.
He also appealed to international human rights organizations and the global community to immediately assume their moral and legal responsibilities, condemn settler crimes, and end what he described as a troubling silence. Shadid called for urgent action to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people, their land, and their fundamental rights. (ILKHA)
