Iran warns of “immediate powerful response” to any threats against Its people or leadership
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has issued a stern warning that any threat directed at Iran’s people or leadership will be met with an immediate and powerful response.
In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Araqchi reacted sharply to recent remarks by Israeli Minister of War Israel Katz, who reportedly threatened both the Iranian people and its leadership.
Araghchi said the terms of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, reached as part of efforts to halt recent hostilities, clearly place responsibility on the United States to restrain Israel and prevent further escalation.
“The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear and public for all to see. POTUS has committed the US to muzzling its pets in Tel Aviv. If they ignore their master, Iran will school them,” Araghchi wrote.
The Iranian foreign minister also issued a direct warning against any future threats targeting Iran.
“Any threat against our people and leadership will receive immediate powerful response,” he said.
The remarks come amid a fragile ceasefire that followed weeks of military confrontation involving Iran, Israel and the United States. Although active hostilities have largely subsided, tensions remain high as officials on all sides continue exchanging accusations and warnings.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly stated that they will respond decisively to any attack on the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity or senior leadership, while Israeli officials have maintained that they will continue to act against what they describe as security threats posed by Iran and its regional allies.
The latest exchange of rhetoric underscores the continuing volatility in the region despite ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a return to open conflict. (ILKHA)
