Israeli airstrike targets civilian vehicle in southern Lebanon

An Israeli airstrike struck a civilian vehicle on Monday morning along Sidon’s coastal corniche, just meters from a Lebanese Army checkpoint.
Lebanese Army forces swiftly secured the area, later allowing journalists to document the targeted vehicle. The attack caused significant traffic congestion as security measures led to road closures around the site.
According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, the strike resulted in the death of one civilian. Emergency responders, including ambulances and fire brigades, were dispatched to the scene to assist.
This marks the first Israeli airstrike on Sidon since the ceasefire took effect on November 23 and comes less than 24 hours after another Israeli strike targeted a civilian vehicle on Jarjouh Road in the Iqlim Al-Tuffah region.
Later on Monday, Lebanon’s Al-Jamaa Al-Islamiya (Islamic Group) confirmed the death of Hamas military official Mahmoud Shaheen, who was killed in the Sidon airstrike. (ILKHA)
