Israeli airstrikes kill three more Palestinian journalists in Gaza

The Israeli occupation’s relentless bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of three more Palestinian journalists—Aziz Al-Hajjar, Nour Qandil, and Abdul Rahman Al-Abadlah—on Saturday, bringing the death toll among media workers to staggering levels since the start of the genocidal war in October.
The targeted killing of journalists came amid a series of brutal airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes across the besieged territory, massacring at least 40 civilians, including women and children, in densely populated areas. One of the deadliest attacks took place in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, where three tents housing displaced families and a nearby residential apartment were bombed, sparking massive fires and reducing the shelters to ash.
According to a correspondent from the Palestinian Information Center, the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis was overwhelmed by the number of dead and wounded, with victims’ bodies left in outdoor courtyards due to the lack of morgue space and resources.
Journalist Noor Qandil was killed alongside her husband, Khaled Ahmad Abu Seif, and their daughter when Israeli forces struck their home in the Bishara neighborhood of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Fellow journalist Aziz Al-Hajjar was also killed in a separate strike the same day. Meanwhile, the body of journalist Abdul Rahman Al-Abadlah, who had gone missing two days prior, was found beneath the rubble. He had last been seen wearing his clearly marked “PRESS” vest.
The targeted killing of Palestinian journalists continues unabated, with no accountability or international intervention. Media workers in Gaza have faced extraordinary risks while documenting Israel’s war crimes and the catastrophic humanitarian crisis unfolding under siege.
Human rights observers and press freedom organizations have condemned the deliberate targeting of journalists as a violation of international law. However, the Israeli regime continues its attacks with impunity, as global powers remain silent and complicit in the face of mounting evidence of systematic war crimes.
As Gaza bleeds and its journalists are silenced one by one, the world’s inaction speaks volumes. (ILKHA)
