Israeli forces continue ceasefire violations with airstrikes and shelling across Gaza
The Israeli occupation army continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as renewed airstrikes, artillery shelling, and naval fire were reported in multiple areas, according to local sources.
Witnesses said Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the city of Rafah and on areas east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The aerial attacks were accompanied by ongoing artillery bombardment and heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles operating in the area.
In a further escalation, Israeli naval boats opened fire on Palestinian waters off al-Qarara, northwest of Khan Younis, heightening tensions along Gaza’s coastline and further endangering civilians despite the declared truce.
At the same time, areas east of Gaza City were subjected to continuous artillery shelling, spreading fear among residents and underscoring the fragile and deteriorating security situation under the ceasefire.
Gaza’s health authorities announced on Sunday that the overall death toll since the start of the Israeli aggression in October 2023 has risen to 70,654, the majority of whom are women and children. The number of injured has reached 171,095, with officials warning that many victims remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, beyond the reach of rescue and medical teams.
Despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 11, 2025, Palestinian officials report that Israeli violations have continued unabated. Since the truce began, at least 386 people have been killed and 1,018 others injured, while 628 bodies have been recovered during this period.
Local authorities and rights groups say the continued attacks highlight Israel’s disregard for the ceasefire and international humanitarian law, as civilians across Gaza remain under constant threat amid ongoing bombardment, destruction, and humanitarian collapse. (ILKHA)
