Israeli raid on Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus leaves multiple injured, including elderly

A pre-dawn raid by Israeli occupation forces and colonists at Joseph’s Tomb, east of Nablus, left several people injured on Tuesday morning, according to local sources and medical officials.
The incursion, which involved heavy use of tear gas and sound bombs, resulted in one person suffering burns, another injured from a fall, and multiple cases of suffocation due to toxic gas inhalation.
Amid Ahmed, director of the Red Crescent’s Emergency and Ambulance Center in Nablus, reported that ambulance crews treated a range of injuries, including a 60-year-old citizen among those affected by tear gas. All victims were promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Local sources detailed that the raid began when several Israeli military vehicles entered the eastern part of Nablus through the Huwwara, Awarta, and Beit Furik checkpoints. The forces deployed tear gas and sound bombs to secure the area, enabling colonists to access Joseph’s Tomb, where they performed Talmudic rituals. The heavy-handed tactics sparked chaos, contributing to the injuries reported.
The incident has heightened tensions in the region, with local residents condemning the use of force during the operation. No official statement has been released by Israeli authorities regarding the raid or the reported injuries at the time of this report. (ILKHA)
