Israeli regime halts Gaza attacks after emergency security meeting

Over 40 Palestinians martyred in relentless bombardments before Netanyahu orders temporary pause.
Following the brutal Israeli airstrikes that martyred more than 40 Palestinians, the so-called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his army to suspend its ongoing aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to Hebrew media, Netanyahu convened an emergency security meeting amid growing tensions in Gaza. The meeting was attended by the so-called Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, and senior military officials.
After the meeting, the occupation army announced that it had halted its attacks on Gaza “in accordance with political directives.” Earlier in the day, heavy bombardments targeted several areas across the enclave, leaving dozens of civilians martyred and many others injured.
Reports in the occupation media revealed that Netanyahu’s government initially decided to close all crossings to Gaza but reversed its decision under pressure from the United States. The Rafah crossing, however, remains closed.
American media reported that Washington urged the Israeli regime to “respond without jeopardizing the deal,” prompting the Netanyahu administration to allow humanitarian aid deliveries to resume following U.S. intervention.
The extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir fiercely criticized Netanyahu’s move, accusing him of making a “disgraceful retreat.”
The suspension of attacks came after two Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes in Rafah. The Palestinian resistance denied involvement in the incident, stressing that it was the occupation forces who violated the ceasefire from the very first day. (ILKHA)
