Israeli settlers attack Ein Yabrud, set Palestinian vehicles ablaze
Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Ein Yabrud, east of Ramallah, on Wednesday, setting fire to two Palestinian vehicles and spray-painting racist slogans on property, according to local sources.
Residents said a group of illegal settlers raided the old town area of Ein Yabrud, where they torched the vehicles and vandalized surrounding property with racist graffiti. The attackers fled the scene after villagers confronted them and raised the alarm.
The assault is the latest in a growing wave of organized settler violence targeting Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank. Local officials and human rights groups say such attacks are routinely carried out under the protection—or at least the watch—of Israeli occupation forces, who rarely intervene to stop the assaults or hold perpetrators accountable.
In recent weeks, Israeli settlers have intensified their attacks, burning Palestinian homes and farmland, targeting shepherds and their livestock, blocking secondary roads used by Palestinian residents, and raiding multiple villages in the Ramallah and central West Bank areas.
Palestinian rights organizations warn that the escalation of settler violence is part of a broader policy aimed at intimidating Palestinian communities, forcing displacement, and expanding illegal settlement activity in violation of international law. (ILKHA)
