Israeli shelling kills 14 more in Gaza as humanitarian catastrophe deepens

The death toll in the besieged Gaza Strip continues to rise as relentless Israeli bombardment claimed the lives of 14 more Palestinians since dawn on Monday, according to local medical sources.
Among the victims were two civilians killed on Monday morning in separate Israeli artillery attacks on Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. One man was killed near the Asdaa Prison northwest of the city, while a woman lost her life in an Israeli strike on the town of Bani Suhaila to the east.
Health authorities in Gaza reported that the 14 martyrs were killed in multiple Israeli strikes targeting residential areas across the enclave. Civilians remain the primary victims of the ongoing Israeli campaign, now in its tenth month.
The total number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has soared to 57,418, with an additional 136,261 wounded. Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble or lie on the streets, as emergency crews are unable to reach them due to continued bombardment and destroyed infrastructure.
Hospitals in the Strip, already overwhelmed and barely functioning due to the crippling Israeli blockade and destruction of healthcare facilities, are struggling to treat the wounded. The situation remains catastrophic, with the health system on the brink of total collapse.
Palestinian civil defense teams report that many areas remain inaccessible, and families continue to dig through debris with their bare hands in a desperate search for missing loved ones.
Despite international calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian relief, Israel’s military campaign shows no signs of abating. Rights groups have repeatedly condemned the targeting of civilians and the use of starvation and siege as tools of war, actions widely seen as violations of international humanitarian law.
As the world watches, Gaza’s suffering deepens — its people subjected to daily bombardments, collective punishment, and a humanitarian blockade that has turned the Strip into what many describe as an open-air graveyard. (ILKHA)
