Kabul hosts talks With Chinese ambassador to boost economic ties
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that Minister Nooruddin Azizi held a meeting with Zhaoxing, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, to address challenges faced by Chinese investors and explore ways to deepen bilateral economic cooperation.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, the meeting brought together the Chinese ambassador and his accompanying delegation with senior Afghan officials to discuss practical steps to resolve investment-related obstacles and create a more favorable business environment for foreign companies operating in Afghanistan.
During the talks, the Chinese delegation presented a range of concerns affecting Chinese investors, calling for streamlined procedures, improved legal protections, and expanded cooperation mechanisms to facilitate long-term projects.
Minister Nooruddin Azizi emphasized the Afghan government’s commitment to creating greater facilities and incentives for foreign investors, stating that Afghanistan is fully prepared to expand cooperation with Chinese companies across multiple sectors, including mining, infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing.
Officials said the meeting is expected to pave the way for increased trade, stronger economic ties, and broader investment flows between Afghanistan and China, as both sides seek to enhance regional connectivity and economic development.
The ministry added that continued dialogue and coordination will play a key role in transforming bilateral economic relations into concrete and sustainable projects in the coming period. (ILKHA)
