Over 9,800 Palestinians detained in occupied West Bank since October 7
Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 22 Palestinians, including a journalist, a child, and former detainees, in the occupied West Bank over the past 24 hours, according to a joint statement by the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS).
The recent detention operations occurred across multiple governorates, including Hebron, Ramallah, Tulkarem, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. These operations involved widespread raids, assaults, and threats against detainees and their families, as well as vandalism and destruction of citizens' homes.
The PPS and the Commission reported that the total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank since October 7 has risen to over 9,800. This number includes individuals arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those taken hostage.
The organizations have condemned the ongoing detentions and the harsh measures used by Israeli forces, highlighting the significant impact on Palestinian families and communities. (ILKHA)
