Pakistan: At least 10 people killed after house’s roof collapses in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

A house's roof has collapsed in Tatta Pani, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), killing at least ten people, and injuring four others, according to local sources.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in Tahi Khakhriyali — the last village of the Poonch district along the left bank of the Poonch River.
“The heavy rainfall over the past few days had made the roof of the house, fragile and vulnerable. Two brothers and their respective families lived in the mud house,” Hajira Assistant Commissioner (AC) Waleed Anwar said.
“14 people from both families, mostly children, were sleeping in the veranda where they were buried under mounds of earth when the roof collapsed,” he added.
Meanwhile, AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas expressed grief and sorrow over the lives lost in the incident.
“The heart is saddened by the death of eleven people when the roof of the house collapsed in the outskirts of Tatta Pani Azad Kashmir last night. The government stands with the affected family in this hour of difficulty and will take care of all the needs of the affected family,” Ilyas said on Twitter. (ILKHA)
