Palestinian resistance escalates operations against Israeli forces across Gaza

Palestinian resistance factions carried out a series of coordinated attacks across southern and eastern Gaza on Friday and Saturday, striking Israeli tanks, bulldozers, and troop concentrations in a continued show of defiance against the occupying forces amid an ongoing genocidal assault.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, reported that its fighters targeted four Israeli engineering excavators with Al-Yassin 105 anti-armor missiles east of Khan Yunis. Fires erupted at the scene, with visible casualties among Israeli soldiers, prompting helicopters to evacuate the wounded from the town of Abasan al-Kabira.
Al-Qassam also confirmed that two powerful landmines were detonated under a Merkava tank and a D-9 bulldozer in Abasan al-Kabira. Additional operations included mortar attacks on Israeli troop gatherings and military vehicles in the Al-Satar Al-Gharbi area, north of Khan Yunis. A joint operation with the Al-Quds Brigades was carried out near Halima Mosque in southern Khan Yunis.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, also claimed responsibility for several operations. These included the detonation of an explosive device targeting an Israeli military vehicle on Highway 5 north of Khan Yunis, and a machine gun attack on a military excavator in the same area. The group launched mortars at troop concentrations east of Hamad City and struck Israeli supply lines and positions east of the Netzarim axis with 107 rockets.
The Brigades also released video footage showing mortar attacks on Israeli forces near Talat Al-Muntar, east of Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood.
These resistance operations come in response to Israel’s continued campaign of terror against the Gaza Strip, which has, since October 7, 2023, resulted in widespread devastation, mass displacement, and tens of thousands of civilian casualties. The Israeli occupation’s relentless use of airstrikes, siege tactics, and collective punishment has plunged Gaza into a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe.
Despite international condemnation and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt its actions, Israel has pressed forward with its war, killing or injuring nearly 189,000 Palestinians—most of them women and children. Over 14,000 remain missing under the rubble, and countless more face starvation and disease under the tightening blockade.
Palestinian resistance groups have vowed to continue defending their people and land until the aggression ends and justice is restored. (ILKHA)
