Three Israeli captives were handed over to a Red Cross crew on Saturday morning as part of the ongoing ceasefire agreement between the Hamas Movement and the Israeli occupation government.
The captives released were Iair Horn, 46, a dual citizen of Israel and Argentina; Sagui Dekel Chen, 36, an American-Israeli; and Alexander Troufanov, 29, who holds Israeli and Russian citizenship.
During a televised event near the home of martyred Hamas leader Yehya as-Sinwar in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, resistance fighters from the al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas transferred two captives to Red Cross representatives, while al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad handed over one prisoner.
As with previous prisoner handovers, Red Cross officials signed documents acknowledging the transfer before transporting the captives to be handed over to the Israeli occupation army.
In exchange, Israel will release 369 Palestinian prisoners later today. Among them, 36 are serving life sentences, while 333 were detained following the recent conflict in Gaza.
This marks the sixth prisoner exchange since the ceasefire took effect on January 19, underscoring ongoing efforts to uphold the negotiated truce.
The prisoner swaps continue to play a crucial role in easing tensions and fostering diplomatic discussions aimed at sustaining the fragile ceasefire between the warring parties. (ILKHA)
