Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel to visit Türkiye

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, will pay a working visit to Türkiye on Wednesday.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Ministry stated: “Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, will pay a working visit to Türkiye on 15 October 2025.”
During the visit, Minister Rangel is expected to hold talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and other senior officials in Ankara. The discussions will reportedly focus on bilateral relations, regional developments, and Türkiye–European Union relations, as well as cooperation within international organizations such as the United Nations and NATO.
Diplomatic sources indicate that the visit reflects both countries’ desire to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres. Türkiye and Portugal, both members of NATO, have maintained cordial ties, and Ankara continues to emphasize constructive engagement with EU member states as part of its broader European diplomacy.
The meeting also comes amid heightened regional challenges, with Türkiye’s diplomatic initiatives in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, and the Black Sea region drawing growing international attention.
Minister Rangel’s visit marks the latest in a series of high-level European visits to Türkiye in recent months, underscoring Ankara’s role as a pivotal actor in regional diplomacy and as a bridge between Europe and the wider Muslim world. (ILKHA)
