Thousands to march to Turkish parliament for Gaza’s survival

Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform, joined by civil society representatives from seven regions of Türkiye, will march from Güvenpark to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) at 6:30 p.m. to demand the immediate opening of a humanitarian corridor to Gaza.
The march aims to spotlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis and alleged genocide in Gaza, where over 2 million people, primarily infants, children, women, and elderly civilians, are facing starvation.
The initiative will be formally announced at a press conference on August 5 at the TBMM, attended by civil society platforms and parliament members from across Turkey’s seven regions. The statement will urge all political parties in the TBMM to unite in a collective call for humanity and demonstrate strong resolve to address the crisis in Gaza by facilitating regular humanitarian aid.
Organized by the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform, alongside platforms from Bursa, Konya, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Antalya, and İzmir, the march seeks to galvanize national conscience and transcend political divides. The coalition’s rallying cry, “Open a humanitarian corridor for Gaza before it is too late!” underscores the urgency of delivering aid to alleviate the suffering in Gaza.
Details of the August 10 march will be shared during the August 5 press conference, emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the humanitarian tragedy. (ILKHA)
