Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Malaysia today to begin a two-day official visit, accompanied by First Lady Emine.
The delegation landed at the Bunga Raya Complex of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 2:10 p.m. local time.
Upon arrival, the Turkish delegation was warmly received by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Joining the welcome were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, underscoring the high-level significance of the visit.
After the initial greetings, President Erdogan inspected a guard of honour composed of 28 officers from the First Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment (Ceremonial). He then proceeded with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) for the next phase of the official engagements.
Erdogan's visit comes at a time of renewed diplomatic and economic cooperation between Turkey and Malaysia, with discussions expected to focus on bilateral relations and regional issues. (ILKHA)
