Türkiye offers condolences for deadly floods in Pakistan's Punjab province

Türkiye has expressed its condolences to Pakistan following devastating floods in Punjab province caused by heavy monsoon rains.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to heavy rains and floods in Punjab province of Pakistan. We wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives and extend our condolences to the people of Pakistan.
"The floods, triggered by torrential rains, have claimed at least 63 lives and injured 290 people in Punjab over the past 24 hours, according to Pakistan’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
Since the monsoon season began on 26 June, the death toll in the province has risen to 103, with 393 injuries reported. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared an emergency in several districts, including Rawalpindi and Chakwal, as rescue operations continue to evacuate those affected. (ILKHA)
