Afghan police seize large cache of weapons, ammunition in Ghazni
Afghan security forces have seized a significant cache of weapons and ammunition in Ghazni Province, as part of ongoing efforts to combat armed violence and enhance regional stability.
The Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Ghazni Provincial Police Command conducted extensive operations over the past four months across various parts of Ghazni city and its surrounding districts. According to a statement from the Press Office of the Ministry of Interior, the raids resulted in the confiscation of a large number of firearms and military equipment.
The seized arsenal includes 21 Kalashnikov rifles, 21 pistols, 8 hunting rifles, 2 PK machine guns, as well as substantial quantities of light and heavy ammunition. Additional military gear was also recovered during the operations.
Alongside the weapons seizure, security forces arrested 11 suspects believed to be involved in illegal arms activities. These individuals have been handed over to judicial authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
The Ministry of Interior highlighted that these successful operations demonstrate the commitment of Afghan security forces to tackling armed threats and ensuring peace and stability in Ghazni and the broader region.
