Türkiye reiterates support for Palestine amid renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza
Türkiye has condemned Israel’s latest attacks on the Gaza Strip, describing them as a “flagrant violation of the ceasefire” and urging Israel to cease actions that undermine peace and regional stability.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over reports that several civilians were killed in the recent Israeli strikes on Gaza, emphasizing that the continuation of such assaults threatens regional peace efforts.
“Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip constitute a flagrant violation of the ceasefire. We are deeply concerned by reports that civilians have lost their lives as a result of the attacks,” the ministry said.
Ankara stressed that “full adherence to the ceasefire is of vital importance” to preserving hopes for a lasting peace and ensuring the security of the broader Middle East.
“We once again emphasize that full adherence to the ceasefire is of vital importance for preserving the prospect for lasting peace and ensuring regional security,” the statement added.
The ministry reiterated Türkiye’s firm position in support of the Palestinian people, reaffirming its commitment to efforts toward a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on international law and human dignity.
“We reiterate our call on Israel to adhere to the ceasefire and refrain from actions that undermine peace and stability. Türkiye will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to support efforts towards achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region,” the statement concluded.
The condemnation follows reports of renewed Israeli bombardments across several parts of Gaza despite a ceasefire agreement aimed at halting hostilities. Turkish officials have consistently criticized Israel’s ongoing aggression, calling for international accountability and an immediate end to what Ankara has described as the “collective punishment” of Palestinians.
