Two Palestinian children injured in Israeli settler attack on vehicle in occupied West Bank
Two Palestinian children were injured early Saturday after extremist Israeli settlers allegedly attacked their family's vehicle with stones in the occupied West Bank, local sources said.
The incident occurred in the Wadi al-Sha'ar area between the town of al-Lubban al-Sharqiya and the city of Salfit, where settlers reportedly hurled stones at the vehicle driven by Ahmad Owais.
According to local sources, the attack directly struck Owais' two children, Mustafa and Ali, causing injuries to their heads and faces.
The children were immediately transported to Yasser Arafat Hospital in Salfit, where they received medical treatment.
The attack was part of a series of reported settler assaults across several areas of the occupied West Bank during the early hours of Saturday.
In the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah, extremist settlers reportedly attacked Palestinian homes and vandalized an apartment building, causing damage to private property.
Meanwhile, in the nearby village of Umm Safa, clashes erupted after settlers reportedly attacked the outskirts of the community. According to local sources, Israeli forces intervened during the incident, and several Palestinians sustained injuries, while others suffered from tear gas inhalation.
In a related development, settlers were also reported to have set fire to large areas of Palestinian farmland following attacks on several towns and villages across the occupied West Bank.
Local residents said the fires caused damage to agricultural land, adding to concerns over repeated attacks targeting Palestinian property and livelihoods.
The reported settler attacks coincided with Israeli military measures that included the closure of several checkpoints and major roads across parts of the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources, the restrictions affected the movement of Palestinian residents and were implemented alongside the reported settler attacks.
The incidents come amid continued tensions in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians have reported a rise in attacks by Israeli settlers and military operations in recent months. (ILKHA)
