United States: Mass shooting in Birmingham leaves four dead, dozens injured

A mass shooting in the Five Points South entertainment district of Birmingham on Saturday night left at least four people dead and dozens injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred just after 11:00 p.m. local time, with police arriving to find two men and a woman unresponsive from gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth victim later died from injuries at a nearby hospital.
Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald confirmed that authorities believe multiple shooters were involved in the attack. “We believe that multiple shooters fired multiple shots on a group of people,” Fitzgerald said.
As of early Sunday, no suspects had been taken into custody, and the circumstances leading to the shooting are under investigation. Detectives are trying to determine whether the shooters approached on foot or from a vehicle. Victims were found scattered across open areas, including sidewalks and streets.
In addition to the fatalities, police reported "dozens" of other victims suffering from gunshot wounds, several of whom sought medical treatment at local hospitals. At least four of the injured victims are in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are continuing their investigation as they search for suspects involved in the mass shooting. (ILKHA)
