Afghan business delegation visits Uzbekistan to boost economic cooperation
A high-level Afghan business delegation comprising more than 100 business leaders and investors has begun a three-day official visit to Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, expanding trade, and promoting new investment opportunities.
The delegation is led by Sayed Karim Hashemi, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), according to a statement issued by the chamber.
The visit seeks to deepen commercial ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan through direct engagement between private-sector representatives from both countries.
During the three-day mission, delegates are expected to hold a series of business-to-business (B2B) meetings, explore investment opportunities, and discuss ways to facilitate cross-border trade and long-term economic partnerships.
According to the ACCI, the visit is designed to encourage stronger cooperation between the business communities of the two neighboring countries while identifying new avenues for joint investment and commercial collaboration.
The delegation will also meet with Uzbek business leaders and relevant officials to discuss measures aimed at improving trade connectivity, easing investment procedures, and expanding economic exchanges.
Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have steadily increased economic cooperation in recent years, with both sides expressing interest in expanding regional trade, improving transport and transit links, and supporting infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity across Central and South Asia.
The latest visit reflects ongoing efforts by the Afghan private sector to strengthen regional economic partnerships and attract greater investment as part of broader initiatives to promote sustainable economic growth and regional integration. (ILKHA)
