Turkey: Producer price index of agricultural products rises by 21.76% annually
Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products (Agriculture-PPI) increased by 21.76% annually and 1.76% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.
Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 1.76%, on December of the previous year increased by 8.96%, on the same month of the previous year increased by 21.76%, and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 20.19% in June 2021.
Compared to the previous month in sectors; products of agriculture, hunting, and related services increased by 1.60%, fishing products, and other fishing products increased by 2.35%, and forestry products and related services increased by 6.35%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops decreased by 0.06%, live animals and animal products increased by 2.09%, and perennial crops increased by 4.31%.
The highest annual increase was 43.94% in the fiber plants subgroup
In June 2021, cereals (except rice), leguminous crops, and oilseeds with 35.94% and poultry live and eggs with 32.20% were the subgroups where a high increase was realized. On the other hand, rice (in hulk) with 2.49%, oleaginous fruits with 12.23%, and other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 14.26% were the subgroups that indicated a low annual increase. Vegetables and melons, roots, and tubers with 0.39% were the only subgroups where annual decrease realized.
The highest monthly increase was 9.22% in other tree and bush fruits and nuts subgroup
In June 2021, cereals (except rice), leguminous crops, and oilseeds with 8.19% and sheep and goats live; raw milk and shorn wool from sheep and goats with 3.74% were the subgroups where high increase realized. Other farmed animals and animal products with 0.58% and fiber plants with 1.08% were the subgroups that indicated a low monthly increase. On the other hand, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 9.66% were the only subgroup where monthly decrease realized.
In June 2021, within average prices of 82 items in the index; the average prices of 23 items decreased and the average prices of 7 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 52 items increased. (ILKHA)
