Türkiye’s construction output grows 12.7% annually

Construction production in Türkiye surged by 12.7% in February 2025 compared to the same month last year, according to data released Tuesday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The annual increase reflects strong momentum in the sector, with all main subsectors contributing positively. The construction of buildings index recorded the largest annual growth, rising 14.9%. Meanwhile, the civil engineering index grew by 10.3%, and specialised construction activities saw a 7.1% year-on-year increase.
However, on a monthly basis, the sector experienced a slight decline of 0.3% in overall production. The construction of buildings index fell by 0.9%, and civil engineering dipped by 0.2% in February 2025 compared to January. In contrast, specialised construction activities showed resilience, with a 1.6% monthly increase.
The mixed results highlight the robust long-term growth in Türkiye’s construction sector, despite short-term fluctuations, and reflect ongoing demand for infrastructure and building projects amid broader economic recovery efforts. (ILKHA)
