Türkiye’s Economic Coordination Board convened to align industrial policy with global standards
The Economic Coordination Board (EKK) convened on Monday under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to discuss key economic and industrial policy measures.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Complex and brought together top government officials and institutional representatives.
The high-level meeting convened a wide array of top government officials and institutional leaders to discuss critical economic policies. Key figures in attendance included the Treasury and Finance Minister, Mehmet Şimşek, the Labor and Social Security Minister, Vedat Işıkhan, the Industry and Technology Minister, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, and the Trade Minister, Ömer Bolat. Institutional heads were also present, such as Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan, Presidential Strategy and Budget Head İbrahim Şenel, President of the Presidential Investment and Finance Office Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, and Climate Change Director Halil Hasar. Additionally, senior officials from the ruling AK Party participated, including Group Chairman Abdullah Güler and Deputy Chairmen Efkan Ala and Nihat Zeybekci.
During the session, participants discussed Türkiye’s compliance efforts with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, strategies for accelerating the YTAK program, and evaluated the effects of state support programs on the economy.
Officials highlighted the importance of aligning industrial and trade policies with international environmental standards while ensuring continued economic growth and efficiency in state aid programs.
