Türkiye’s paid employee numbers rise 1.1% annually in February

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced Tuesday that the number of paid employees in the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors grew by 1.1% in February 2025 compared to February 2024.
The total number of paid employees increased from 15,125,704 to 15,293,843 over the year, according to the agency.
Breaking down the data by sector, the trade-services sector saw the largest annual gain at 2.9%, followed by a 2.0% rise in construction. However, the industrial sector experienced a 2.2% decline in paid employees year-on-year.
On a monthly basis, the overall number of paid employees dipped slightly by 0.1% from January to February 2025. Sub-sector trends showed a 0.4% decrease in industry, a 0.7% drop in construction, and a modest 0.1% increase in trade-services.
