Türkiye strengthens its position among top five countries in global health tourism

Türkiye continues to provide world-class healthcare services, ranking among the top five countries in global health tourism, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health’s Press and Public Relations Consultancy.
Under the directives of Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, Türkiye’s International Health Services Inc. (USHAŞ) recently engaged in a critical meeting with officials from the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The discussions marked a significant step toward strengthening collaborations in the health tourism sector.
USHAŞ played an active role in the 3rd TÜRSAB Tourism Congress, organized by the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) on February 17-18, 2025. Behlül Ünver, General Manager of USHAŞ, participated as a speaker in the panel discussion on “The Future of Health Tourism.”
The panel addressed Türkiye’s strategic steps in becoming a global health tourism hub, explored methods to increase international patient inflows, and emphasized the sustainable growth of the sector. Ünver highlighted USHAŞ’s efforts in advancing health tourism, sharing insights on digitalization, service quality, and international collaborations. Türkiye’s competitive advantages and innovative healthcare solutions were also key discussion points.
In addition to its participation in the congress, USHAŞ representatives held productive discussions with Antalya Provincial Director of Health, Prof. Dr. Behzat Özkan. The meetings focused on potential collaborations and development opportunities to further enhance health tourism in Antalya, a key destination for medical travelers.
USHAŞ extended its gratitude to TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağlıkaya for organizing the event and to TÜRSAB Board Member Elif Ural, who moderated the “Future of Health Tourism” panel.
As Türkiye continues its efforts to expand and enhance the health tourism sector, USHAŞ remains committed to strengthening the country’s position on the international stage, improving service quality, and fostering global partnerships. (ILKHA)
